Computer parasites are undesired applications that are intended to harm your PC in one way or another. Long gone are days when such applications were done by nerds in the basements, today it is a multi-million dollar industry. Thus it is harder and harder to protect your PC from spyware.
Computer parasites includeAdware (4) - applications that show unsolicited advertisements on your PC thus clogging your screen, network bandwidth, performance. Rogue Anti-Spyware (336) - a fake security programs that are created by corrupt crooks. These programs are not to be trusted! They are either promoted by computer parasites or by corrupt websites by faking an infection on your PC and then pushing products to get into your pockets. Rootkits (1) - a small, but dangerous class of computer parasites that are created for helping hiding other malware, usually trojans. They dig deep into computer OS and are very hard to remove. Browser Hijacker (1) - a type of adware that messes with your browser settings. It forces you to visit the sites they want and promote, so you would pay their bills.
