Soft Cop is a fake security program, which gets people into trouble because of it's manipulative techniques. SoftCop tries to make people consider it's services reputable and asks to pay money for it's “licensed” version. This is relatively easy to do, because people get scared after seeing their malware-ridden scan reports. However, after purchasing this program, it becomes obvious that this program is a scam. Soft Cop actually belongs to the huge family of rogue antispyware programs, which includes Soft Soldier, Security Tool, Safe Fighter, Trust Cop and many more, so there is no question if it has to be avoided or not.

SoftCop infiltrates computers secretly by using Trojans viruses, spam letters, malicious domains or comes bundled with freeware. After the system is invaded, the program imitates a scan and alerts the unsuspecting PC user about troubles that have been detected. Some of the messages read:

"Spyware Alert!
Your computer is infected with spyware. It could damage your critical files or expose your private data on the Internet. Click here to register your copy of SoftCop and remove spyware threats from your PC."

After flooding the system with such fake notifications, the “full” version of SoftCop is offered as the only reputable anti-spyware. All these statements are false and should be ignored. If you happen to encounter Soft Cop, remove it as soon as possible.
