Total Security

Information about Total Security

Total Security is the predecessor of Cyber Security. This parasite's popularity has waned quite a bit already, but people encounter it often nevertheless. Total Security uses downloader trojans and drive-by downloads to enter the system, and relies on misleading advertising to trick users into purchasing it's "licensed version", which is a non-existent thing altogether.

Once inside, Total Security floods the user with popups and fake system notifications, claiming his system is infected, and implying that Total Security is necessary in order to dispose of the infections. Like all modern rogues, Total Security performs fake system scans, which mark harmless files as threats, thus leading the user to believe his system is in need of security software (Total Security) to take care of the issue. Don't trust this information: there are no infections on your system other than Total Security, and even if there is, Total Security isn't capable of fixing that.

Total Security is a scam and should be treated as such: do NOT download or buy it and remove it immediatelly upon detection.
