Protection Center

Information about Protection Center

Protection Center is a rogue anti-spyware, so do NOT think contrary and take it the legitimate security application as it may appear to you at first sight. Actually, ProtectionCenter is a complete successor of other malwares called Digital Protection, Dr. Guard, Your Protection or Data Protection and that's why there is no doubt that it is also developed to rip you off just like any of its predecessors.

The way how ProtectionCenter does these trickeries is quite usual. Firstly, its trialware penetrates onto the targeted computer via backdoor techniques, such as using stealthy Trojans. It also may apply browser hijacking techniques and redirect computer users who are browsing to its “official” websites also distributing malware. When ProtectionCenter gets on board, its activity on that infected computer involves false system scanners, security alerts and notifications. They all detect and announce tons of dangerous viruses and try to make you think that they need to be eliminated as soon as possible. Some of such alerts look like this:

Warning! Virus threat detected!
Virus activity detected!

Danger!
Unauthosrized <sic> access to your computer! Click on the message to install up-to-date antivirus software.

However, as you may have figured out, only the own licensed software of Protection Center is offered to remove these fake threats detected. In fact, all the reported parasites are imaginary and have nothing to do with an actual state of the system and computer. Protection Center’s scanners and popup ads report pre-defined results that are always the same and always state that computer is infected. You should pay your attention to the story written above and, as you may guess, you should remove Protection Center from your computer. If you will only ignore this malware, it will lead your computer to malfunction.
