Information about Antivir

Antivir is fake security software which should not be taken serious in any circumstances! Presenting itself as a legitimate, Antivir is usually advertised by fraudulent „online scanners“, appearing when people browse the Internet. They invite users to download this malware for free and promise to guarantee computer’s protection. However, after being installed manually, it comes clear that a real purpose of creating Antivir is not protecting machine from viruses but increasing the profit for its creators.

Antivir usually looks like a part of Windows Security Center. This malware loads fabricated warning messages, system scanners and alerts users about hundreds of trojans, worms and other viruses found. Classically trying to make people scared, Antivir reports a great list of spyware and informs users that only after a “full” version is purchased, they all will be deleted. Trying to sell another useless anti-spyware, Antivir will also hijack the web browser, stop other security softwares from working and bug the user with enourmous amount of pop-up ads. Its alert messages usually look like this one:

To sum up, Antivir is malware which has nothing positive inside. Don’t trust its notifications and don’t pay for its “licensed” variant. It is highly advised to eliminate Antivir as soon as possible.
