Koobface is a worm which usually tries to break in the PCs via social networking sites, such as Facebook or Twitter. Recently this parasite was noticed to come back to Twitter and renew its malicious actions which are based on misleading links. Acting in a typical way, Koobface usually breaks in the PC system right after users click on a fake link. The link “my home video” was placed on Twitter and users were taken automatically to the website which looked like a YouTube page. What is more, they were told to upgrade Flash player and the Koobface was installed when it was accepted. Many legitimate videos often offer upgrading Flash player, that is why many users were tricked into this scam. Koobface must be uninstalled right after detection. Posted in: Security News
